Our promise

A few words to start.

Alps2LA is a student-led fundraising event organised in Montreux to support Swiss national rowers Nicolas Chambers and Seric Critchley on their road to LA 2028. This page explains what information we collect when you register, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

What we collect

The data you share with us.

When you register through our form, you give us:

  • First name and last name
  • Age
  • Gender (or "prefer not to say")
  • Email address
  • Dietary restrictions or allergies
  • How you heard about the event
  • The time you submitted the form

If you complete payment, we'll also receive a record of your transaction from Stripe (transaction ID, amount, and payment status - we never see your card details).

We do not use cookies, trackers, or analytics on this site.

How we use it

Every field has a purpose.

  • Your name and email - to confirm your registration and send you updates about the event
  • Your age and gender - to plan the evening responsibly and understand our audience
  • Your dietary information - to make sure the caterer accommodates you on the night
  • How you heard about us - to understand which channels work best
  • Your timestamp - to manage limited capacity on a first-come basis
  • Your payment data - to confirm your CHF 15 entry fee with Stripe

We will email you only about Alps2LA. We will not add you to unrelated mailing lists.

Who has access

A short list.

  • Alps2LA organising team - we read every registration
  • Stripe - processes your CHF 15 entry payment

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone outside the services above.

How long we keep it

Deleted after the event.

We delete the full registration list within 30 days after the event (by mid-July 2026 for the 5th June 2026 event). Stripe retains payment records for longer as required by Swiss tax law, typically around 10 years. You can ask us to delete your data sooner - see below.

Your rights and contact

You're in control.

Under Swiss data protection law (FADP) and the EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • See what data we hold on you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Have your data deleted
  • Withdraw your consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, or if you have any questions about your data, email us at info@alps2la.com. We'll respond within seven days.
